Deja Vu

Ohio State looked grim death in the face again tonight and came away with a pulse yet again as they beat Tennessee 85-84. Tennessee had a chance to win the game at the buzzer but Greg Oden came up with a man block to keep his collegiate career alive as well as the Buckeyes title hopes. I think Bruce Pearl is an excellent coach who had an excellent game plan. But, do I need to hear him crying in the press conference that Mike Conley went to the free throw line 14 times and Chris Lofton didn't shoot one free throw. Bruce, pay attention, your guy shoots from 35 feet away from the basket. Conley constantly penetrates. That sounds very similar to those who used to complain that Duke shot more free throws than everyone else. They did! But because they penetrated constantly just like Conley did tonight. Anyways, what an amazing comeback by Ohio State coming back from 20 down. I'm starting to think this team may have something going here but they better stop playing with fire or they will get burned.

UCLA held off Pitt in what must of been the most boring game in the history of basketball. Both teams are mirror images of each other but UCLA has a little bit more talent and experience. Three more UCLA wins gets me a whole lot of cash so go Bruins.

I didn't see the other two games because I was at school but how about Memphis, who has gotten no love all year long because of that conference, beating Texas A&M basically on the road. AND, how about Acie Law, who most thought was the clutchest player in college basketball, missing a layup that most likely would've sealed the game.

In the other game, I was hoping the Salukis would take down Kansas but I hear it was too much Brandon Rush. Bill Self is lucky. Another loss to a Missouri Valley team could've gotten him canned. Beating UCLA in Cali will be a tall order.

Predictions for Friday:

Florida easy
UNC in a surprisingly close game
Oregon over UNLV
Vandy is my upset special over the overhyped G'Town
