Ohhh baby!!! 6 minutes to go in the game, Carolina up big, I'm depressed and then all of a sudden, Carolina collapses in Duke-esque fashion and it felt like I got a B-12 shot. What a terrible job by the Heels and they went ice cold, at one point missing 23 of 24 shots. What's better is that Heels fans should say goodbye to Ty Lawson and Brandon Wright, since most sources say they have already stopped going to classes in anticipation of going pro. Jonathan Wallace is to Duke fans right now like Eric Maynor is to Carolina fans. Only thing is that Duke fans knew they were a year or two away from something special. North Carolina had it all and they choked. Their second team off the bench had enough talent to go to a Final 4 and they got spanked in the OT.
In a year where all of my teams have lost in brutal fashion (see Mets Game 7, NY Giants FG as time expired, Eric Maynor with 1.8 left), this gives me a little bit of solace. Congratulations to the Hoyas who were on my shit list after knocking off my undefeated Blue Devils last year but certainly redeemed themselves with a victory today.
As for the other game, Oregon played Florida tough but the Gators are much too talented up front and Oregon had 3 guys foul out and I think 2 other guys had 4 fouls. They wore down the Ducks and despite Aaron Brooks going off, the Gators will be headed to Atlanta. They are the odds on favorites to win this thing even though I will be rooting really hard for UCLA with $2,600 on the line. Go Bruins!
One other note. I don't really like Florida but if they are going win the whole thing, I better see some Noah dancing. That dance he did at the end of the SEC Championship was hysterical.
